Wilma Lea Reynolds

Wilma Lea Reynolds McHenry, 78, of Roswell NM, passed away on July 8, 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer at home with family and friends at her side. On March 8, 1943, Wilma was born to Lonnie and Gladys McHenry in Sallisaw Oklahoma. She moved to Dexter NM at age 9 and attended school in Dexter, N.M. Wilma worked as a Certified Nurses Aid throughout her career at St. Mary's Hospital and later managed a private nursing home in Roswell. Wilma had two children Vickey Morgan and Ricky Morgan. She was married to Ralph Reynolds on July 12, 1994 and lived out the remainder of his life together at their residence in Roswell. Wilma was a caretaker to everyone around her, she was an excellent cook, enjoyed country music, dancing, and loved to camp and fish. During their retired years she and her husband Ralph traveled the mountains and lakes of NM spending weeks at a time fishing and camping in their RV. Wilma was a very strong lady, determined to remain independent and loved gardening, spending time with her Grandkids, and watching Westerns. Wilma loved to tell stories and even up until the last few weeks of her life she would visit with her family and neighbors and tell stories of her life and events that had happened through the years. Wilma will be missed by her friends and family. Survivors: Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Wilma are her son Ricky Morgan of Roswell NM, and step-daughter Evon Reynolds Soria of San Diego, CA. Her Granddaughter Lauretta Dozier and spouse Chancey Dozier of Roswell, their Daughter Rochelle Bartlett and spouse Cody Bartlett, Son Bryce Dozier, Daughter Jade Dozier and Daughter Taylor Dozier. Her Granddaughter Heather Hernandez and spouse Fernando Cortez, and Daughter Shayleigh Hernandez. Her Granddaughter Misty Helton and spouse Robert Helton of Phoenix AZ, and their daughter MacKenzie Helton. Her Grandson Nathan Morgan and his son Nathan Morgan and daughter Analeah Morgan. Her Granddaughter Chelsea Bates and spouse Jonathan Bates and their daughters Cealeste and Loelah Bates, Great Grand-daughters Mariah, Ashley, and Great Grandson Cody Reynolds of San Diego CA, Brother Walter Dale McHenry of Bartlesville, Ok, Tommy McHenry of Van Buren, AR and sister Sharon Harl of Arkansas. Wilma was Preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Gladys McHenry, her Husband Ralph Reynolds, her Daughter Vickey Morgan, her 4 Brothers Jimmy, Larry, Terry, Billy McHenry and Sisters Betty and Janie McHenry. The Family of Wilma wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Heather and Fernando for helping with the care day and night of their Grandmother for the last several months of her life, Sheryl Mahan for helping care for Wilma and being there to support her after her husband passed away two years ago. The family is sincerely grateful to Taresa and Curtis Hellums and Stan Parsons for their friendship, help and support over the past two years after Wilma lost her husband.
