Zachary Perez

A rosary will be held for Zachary Dominic Perez, 16, of Roswell at 7 pm Friday, February 19, 2010 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Zachary at 9:30 am Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Bill McCann officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Zachary passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010. Visitation will be held 8am to 9 pm, Thursday, February 18, 2010 and Friday 8 am until rosary time. Zachary was born August 3, 1993 to Cheryl Lynn Ortega. He loved being with his mom and his brothers, Steven and James, his sister Nana and friends Anthony and Yvonne no matter what. He wasn’t a bad person, he was a good person who didn’t deserve this. He put everyone first before him. Everyone loved being around him no matter what, his smile and jokes would make you laugh, it would cheer your day up. Zachary loved going to the park and playing with his lil brother Jeremy, his sister Martha and his nephew Andrew. He was a caring, loving, cheerful boy with a Big Smile that we will never forget. When somebody needed help they would call on Zack. He didn’t care what people thought of him, he would go outside and shave his head he didn’t care. Zack, you will always be missed and in our hearts, no matter what, till someday we’ll be with you again!! He is survived by his mother Cheryl of Roswell, seven brothers; Steven J. Perez, James Ortega, Jeremy Perez and Joey Lopez, Luis “Pelon” Gauna, Jimmy Lopez and Jose “Yuyo” Hernandez, three sisters; Stephanie and Martha Perez and Julyana Gauna, his grandfather; Albert Herrera, a very special uncle; Peedy Ortega, his uncles; Carlos Porras, Christian Martinez, Basillio Gauna, his aunts; Melissa Hoffman, Sandra Salas, Martha, Sarah Guana and Erica Herrera, five cousins; Kandice, Alicia and Desiree and Paula Ortega and Devin Smith, his best friend; Jordan De La Cruz, Anthony and Yvonne Gonzales and Alexia Bhakta, the love of his life; Reanna Jojola, one special niece that he adored and loved, “Baby” Evelyna Gauna and numerous cousins and friends too many to name. Zachary is preceded in death by his grandparents; Lonicio and Susana Ortega, a brother; Estevan Gauna, and his grandfather Basillo Guana Pallbearers will be Steven Perez, James Ortega, Luis (Pelon) Gauna, Anthony (Woofy ) Gonzales, Andrew Lujan, Moises Orona, Tommy Smith, Jose (Yuyo) Hernandez and Thomas (Toke) Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stephanie (Nana) Perez, Kandice, Alicia and Desiree Ortega, Jordan De la Cruz, Manuel, Big Stephanie Jojola, Mathew Lujan, Javi Perez, Jesus (Spanky) Sombrano, Adam Gonzales, Damian Gonzales, Alicia Lopez, Joe (Budda) Silva, Eric Aldaz, Rosendo (Rosie) Dimas and Crystal (Teeka) Ortega.
