SERVICE: A Graveside Service for Allene will be held at General Douglas L. McBride Cemetery on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 2:00 PM. On August 25, 1945, Allene was born to Samuel and Celia Lucero in Roswell, New Mexico. She graduated from Roswell High School. Allene was the beloved wife of Bobby Chaves, whom she married on July 9, 1967, in Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Prior to retirement, she worked for the Dexter Independent School District as a Teacher’s Aide. Allene enjoyed crafting and going to casinos. She will be missed by her family and friends Left behind are Allene’s husband, Bobby Chaves; children: Michael and Heather Chaves, Dyan and Mike Biggs, Mary and Mike Maldonado; grandchildren: Desiree and Josh Martinez, Kayla and Josh Irish, Emily Romero-Ellington, Lexi Konopka, Nicole Konopka, and Shane Biggs; great-grandchildren: Liam, Levi, and Mila Martinez, and Jaxton Irish; siblings: Jo Sedillo and Dinah Cavanaugh; many nieces and nephews; as well as her close friends: Lori and Benny Trujillo, Ernie and Jesse Alvarez, and Kathy Hudnall. Allene was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Celia Lucero; and her siblings: Jerry Lucero, Sam Lucero, and Virginia Richardson.
