David Norton Willcox

February 23, 1956 - November 6, 2021

David Norton Willcox, 65, of Roswell, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with David’s family at www.andersonbethany.com On February 23, 1956, David was born to Bertram and Margaret Bainbridge Willcox in Roswell. He attended Roswell High School and New Mexico Tech in Socorro. He lived in the Roswell area his entire life. While never earning a college degree, he explored and mastered many technical skills such as electrician, welder, animal husbandry, carpentry, water desalinization, and the many facets of Dairy Farm operations. David earned peer recognition which led to many long-lasting friendships for his knowledge of technical skills. He was employed with Pirtle Farms and Dairy for several years. His work experience ranged from working on microwave towers to consulting in China for their dairy industry. David was always willing to let people know the correct way to solve a problem. Despite his familiarity with the technological world, he preferred more basic passed times such as hiking, rock climbing, fishing, and camping. David is survived by his wife, Dora of the family home; daughters: Amber Silva Roman, and Shaelyne Willcox, both of Roswell; four other children; and nineteen grandchildren; brother, Thomas Willcox of Roswell; two sisters: Suzanne Karman and her husband John of McKinney, Tx and Marianne Kahlich and her husband Henry of Houston, Tx. Preceded David in death are his parents: Bertram and Margaret Willcox; one sister, Sandra Willcox. David would want his close friends to know how much he appreciated their friendship and support, especially during his battle with cancer. He and his family would especially like to recognize and thank the Pirtle family for treating David like a family member, his best friends: Michael Richardson and Robert Doyle. They also want to thank Matthew Sandry for David’s opportunities and Matthew Kunde, whom he considered a grandson.
