Edward "Walo" De Los Santos

Edward “Walo” De Los Santos, 77, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, in Roswell, NM. There will be a Rosary at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (Ava Maria Center) on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 1:30 PM, followed by a Mass at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On April 8, 1944, Edward “Walo” was born to Emilio and Jovita De Los Santos in Roswell, NM. He enlisted in the United States Army, part of 101st Airborne Division-Air Assault, and served in Vietnam. Edward had an outstanding military career receiving many decorations and medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Walo was the beloved husband of Ramona Archuleta, whom he married on January 10, 1970, in Roswell, NM. Walo enjoyed this time of his life. He was involved in Invaders Softball Team in the 80s, winning multiple trophies during his softball tenure. Prior to retirement, Walo worked as a welder for TMC-Nova Bus for twenty-eight years. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors, listening to music, and drinking with family and friends. Walo was very forthright but very compassionate and giving to everyone he’s ever known. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Later Dayz – Walo. Those left to treasure and cherish memories of Walo are his children: son Ramon De Los Santon Sr. and wife Monica, daughter Anna De Los Santos, son Ernie De Los Santos, and daughter Lorena De Los Santos; grandchildren: Ramon De Los Santos Jr., Cruz Luevano, Sienna Orosco, Marissa Olguin, Dionna De Los Santos, Cavalina Williams, Gemini Brown, Siryon Brown Sr., Ethaniel De Los Santos, Cynia De Los Santos, Eusa De Los Santos, Isreal De Los Santos, Nevaeh De Los Santos, and Hennessy De Los Santos; great-grandchildren: Adrian Luevano, Ava Paez, Siryon Brown Jr., Ozzy Giovanni Brown, De’Angelo Ace Alvarez, Azmaray Serenity Brown, Samaria Wesson, and Conya Brown; siblings: Eugene “Keno” De Los Santos and wife Gina, Henry De Los Santos and wife Terry, and Erminia “Minnie” Ramirez; as well as his friends: Albert Silva, Lupe Campos, Ronnie Garcia, Vietnam friend Jake Vigil, Willie Love and Danny Boy Archuleta. Walo is preceded in death by his wife Ramona De Los Santos; parents: Emilio and Jovita De Los Santos; brother: Eloy De Los Santos; sister: Pauline Tovar; and his grandson, Robert De Los Santos. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ramon De Los Santos Sr., Ramon De Los Santos Jr., Ernie De Los Santos, Cruz Luevano, Larry Archuleta, Siryon Brown Sr., Ethaniel De Los Santos, Gemini Brown, Dionna De Los Santos. Those blessed as Honorary Pallbearers are: Anna De Los Santos, Monica Ceballos, Danny Boy Archuleta, all grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. Walo’s family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Artesia V.A. Clinic. Walo’s tribute was written in his honor by his family, Ramon Sr., Monica, Anna, and Ernie.
