Ginger Marie Acosta Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ginger Marie Acosta, age 40, born on August 6, 1981, the daughter of Isabel P. Acosta and the late Cruz Lopez Acosta, died July 7, 2022. Services: There will be a Viewing at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 AM, with a Mass Service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery of Artesia, New Mexico. Survivors: daughter, Ava Lynn Acosta; sister, Lorraine Hernandez and husband Celestino “Tino”; nephews: Matt Hernandez and wife Amiee and Cilio Cruz Hernandez; great-nieces: Makayla, Mila, Marah Hernandez; and great-nephews: Sammy Pinon, DeAngelo Cataño and Tavien Cruz Hernandez. Preceded: Ginger was preceded in death by her father, Cruz Lopez Acosta; brother, Howard Lynn; sister, Judy Lynette Acosta; maternal grandparents: Juan Baca and Anna Padilla Baca; and her paternal grandparents, Cruz and Pablita Acosta. Ginger graduated from Artesia High School in 1999 and studied Business Administration at New Mexico State of Las Cruces and Carlsbad, New Mexico. She worked for Yates, Door of opportunity, Grummy’s House, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, La Quinta, and Canyon Stone Apartments. Ginger volunteered at various counseling organizations. A devout friend of the earth, Ginger, loved cooking, baking and sharing family recipes. Her passions were traveling and healing with herbs. Ginger traveled to Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, and Houston, attending concerts such as Bush, Pearl Jam, Korn, NIN, Misfits, and Skid Row. Ginger loved fashion, makeup, and styling hair and haircuts; these were her special friends. She could brighten a room with her beautiful smile. She was a single mother of her only child, Ava, who she loved very much. All of Ginger’s family and friends will dearly miss her.
