Juanita M Jaramillo Ramirez
November 7, 1950 - April 9, 2022
Juanita Jaramillo Ramirez (1950-2022) Our mother and sister, Juanita Jaramillo Ramirez of Roswell, NM, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2022, and is no longer suffering after a long battle with her liver disorder. Her loving family was at her bedside, holding her hand. Juanita was born November 7, 1950, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Andrea and Faustino Jaramillo. She was one of 13 children, and as one of the middle children, she was skilled to play off any trouble she met up with. Juanita was kind, funny, and a great people-person to everyone she met. Juanita attended St. John’s Catholic school through eighth grade and then attended Roswell schools, graduating from Roswell High in 1969. She was married to Joe Ramirez II, and together they raised three children, Joe III, Jo Anna and Jake. Juanita retired from Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Laundry Services in 2014, where she was laundry facility supervisor. While raising her children, Juanita enjoyed spending her free time volunteering at East Side Little League Baseball, first coaching and then supporting young families so that their children would continue to have the opportunity to play in an organized league. Juanita loved all kinds of sports. She was always in the stands cheering quarterback Manny Fuentes (there is a family story there!) on her Roswell Coyotes. Her most memorable state football championship game was in Farmington. She loved the Big D Boyz. Other interests include spending time with her great-grandchildren (little Sebastiane was her pride and joy), playing bingo weekly, listening to and attending anything that was involved with mariachi music, traveling to El Paso, TX, to spend time with her brother and sister-in-law, and volunteering with the New Mexico Senior Olympics Games each summer. Juanita also shared her life with Vicente Fuentes (Tito), a special señor for many years. Juanita leaves behind three adult children, Joe Ramirez III, Joanna Ramirez, and Jake Ramirez; one very special granddaughter, Sirena Ramirez; two great-grandchildren: Emani and Sebastiane Luna Ramirez, all of Roswell, NM; siblings: Sara McCurley of Grand Junction CO, Martha Sanchez of Albuquerque NM, Virgie (Frank) Romero of Roswell NM Faustino (Virginia) Jaramillo of El Paso TX, Cecilia Acosta of Roswell, Vicky Gonzales of Roswell NM, and Carmen (Richard) Chavez of Albuquerque, NM; very special sisters-in-law: Katherine Jaramillo (wife of deceased brother Crescencio), of Citrus Heights CA and Beatrice Jaramillo (wife of deceased brother Salvador) of Rio Rancho NM; as well as many nieces and nephews that genuinely cared and always took time from their busy schedules to come by, share a laugh or watch a Dallas Cowboys Game with her. Juanita was a member of St. John’s Church and was always proud of her roots being from Chihuahuita, Roswell’s east side. The family would like to extend a special thank you to two very special caregivers, sister Virgie and niece Veronica Romero, that took Juanita into their home and cared for her each time she needed special care. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your love, kindness, and compassion extended to our mother and sister. Thank you to Dr. Carrie Flury, PA-C, Jessie Surla, DNP, Paracentesis staff at Lovelace Regional, and the ER and ICU staff at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Juanita joins her heavenly family-her parents, Faustino and Andrea Jaramillo; brothers: Damacio (Danny), Crescencio and Sal; special cousin, Robert Lopez; friend Mary Lou Sedillo; great-nephew, and Baby Jesus Sanchez. Pallbearers honored to serve to include her son, Joe Ramirez III; nephews: Louis Jaramillo, Miguel Acosta, Raymond Gonzales, and Miguel Romero; and family friend, Sam Aguirre. Viewing will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Funeral services for Juanita will be held at the Ave Maria Center on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, with a blessed rosary at 9:30 a.m., in her honor, followed by Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. In honor of Juanita’s wishes for cremation, graveside services will be held later. God Saw You Were Getting Tired God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come with Me”. With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He Only takes the best. (author unknown) We love you sister! Vaya Con Dios! Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Juanita’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. Juanita’s tribute was written in her honor by her family.
