Obituary for Linda Vigil Linda Vigil went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, November 13, 2015, surrounded by her loving husband and children. She was born on September 17, 1948, to Manuel and Angelita Cobos, in Roswell, NM. She married the love of her life, Eddy Vigil, on August 14, 1971, in Roswell, NM. They celebrated forty-four years together. Linda devoted her life to serving the Lord; she put God first in all she did. Her love for the Lord inspired many. Linda’s strong faith gave her the courage to fight any obstacles that she faced. She also loved gardening, painting, decorating, and spending time with her grandchildren. Linda enjoyed starting her mornings drinking coffee with her sisters and friends. Preceding Linda in death were her parents, Manuel and Angelita Cobos and sister, Mary Ellen Garcia. Those left to carry on her legacy are her husband, Eddy Vigil, of the family home; her children: Christopher Vigil, of Los Lunas, NM, Paul Vigil and his wife April, Pamela Vigil and Manuel, and Sophia Garcia and her husband Javier; sixteen grandchildren: Issaiah Vigil, Jeramiah Vigil, Dayja Pichardo, Nieves Vigil, Julian Vigil, Noah Vigil, Mariah Vigil, Anastasia Pichardo, Fabian Vigil, Paul Vigil Jr., Javier Garcia Jr., Madalyne Vigil, Anika Vigil, Nathan Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Jonathan Garcia; great-grandchild, Roman Sosa Vigil and one step-grandchild, Elissa Garcia, all of whom she loved and cherished dearly. Also surviving Linda are her brothers and sisters: Simon Hernandez, Manuel Cobos III, Arthur Cobos, Angie Brady and husband Wilfred, Karen Cobos-Urquidi and husband Arturo, Jerry Cobos and wife Lorraine, Martha Leyva and husband Manuel, Garry Cobos and Blacita, and Billy Cobos; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and brother and sister-in-law’s. She also left behind her sister in Christ, Sylvia Salcido and beloved puppy, Hopie. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers. Pallbearers will be Issaiah Vigil, Jeramiah Vigil, Arthur Cobos, Joseph Cobos, Tony Wyatt, and Manuel Leyva. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Linda’s life is scheduled Wednesday, November 18, 2015, 10:00 AM, also at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Deacon Ernesto Martinez will be officiating. Burial will follow at the General Douglas McBride Veteran’s Cemetery. A gathering will be held at the National Guard Armory. A very special thank you goes out to her devoted and loving caregiver, her husband. The family would like to thank all those who kept her in prayer and to the many who contributed during this time. As I cried, I remember you saying, “Heaven is so beautiful, I can already see the golden gates.” Gram you were an angel sent down from above, to tell us about Jesus and to keep this family close. As I think of your smile and laugh, I know you’re happy with your sister, mom, and dad. Things may never be the same, but as long as I have you in my heart I’ll be okay.
