Lucy Kay Russell

November 14, 1956 - December 24, 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Lucy Kay Russell of Roswell. On Friday December 24, 2021, she was admitted at ENMMC with COVID symptoms complicated by COPD and a heart attack. She departed peacefully on Monday December 27, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Lucy was born on November 14, 1956, to Frank and Mabel Moser in Dixon, Illinois. She attended schools in both Oregon and Mt. Morris, Illinois. She graduated in 1974 from Mt. Morris High School. After school she moved to New Mexico to assist with the care of her mother. Her mother had suffered from the effects of tuberculosis in her younger years. In 1975, she wed Johnnie Brooks Russell, Sr. in Dixon, Illinois. She was blessed with four children: Johnnie Jr. (Lisa Fuentes) of Clovis, Joe (Jennifer Brooks), Jesse Russell and Amanda (Michael) McClure all of Roswell. She was predeceased by; her parents; siblings; Chuck Weems, Mary Tyler, Barb Grace, and Bill (Frank Jr.) Moser. She is survived by her siblings: Dennis (Joleen) of Gonvick, Minnesota and Kendal (Ruby) Moser of Dixon, Illinois, and Kathy Vance of Clearbrook, Minnesota, Her beloved grandchildren; Charlie, Alisha, Thomas, Tristan, William, Jazmine, and Shawn; 3 great-granddaughters, as well as countless nieces and nephews. She had dedicated 20 years of her life to the Individuals and her co-workers at Tobosa Developmental Services of Roswell. She was a well loved and respected by her peers as a supervisor and as a friend. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home of Roswell is handling arrangements.
