He was a lifelong resident of Southeastern New Mexico, dedicating his life to the dairy industry. Immigrated to the United States in 1983 with his parents and siblings, settling in Bobcat Country, Hagerman, New Mexico. Later, the family relocated to rivalry, Dexter, New Mexico, attended & graduated from the Dexter Consolidated School District, and became a die-hard Dexter Demon. He met the love of his life, Monica Reveles Duran in 1993, married on January 23, 1999, put down roots in the Midway area, raised their three children, Veronica, Javier, and Elizabeth. He was blessed with the most precious gift, his loving grandchildren, his life’s pride and joy, Adrian, Aretzii, Adamari, Cheqesio, and Carlitos; they knew him as, “their pampo.” He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and a friend to all he met. He is described by his family as an amazing father, an inspiration, positive, and unconditionally loving special person. He attended all their events, special moments, their rock and foundation in life. His wife would tell him you can’t fix everything with hugs and kisses; he would smile and say, “but who loves you?” To his son, Javier, he was his best friend, teacher, and motivator. He was like a second father to his first grandchildren Zeke and Adrian. To those close to him, Manuel was a man of his word, great wisdom, with few words, but always positive and a big smile. As a Godfather, he accepted his role with great honor and assumed his duties in their upbringing and personal development; Victoria (Kiki), Dustin, Jesus, Sonny, Jasmin, Luis Javier, Austin, Clare, Zeke and Giselle. He loved his Washington Redskins, horses, karaoke, and Laberinto. In his younger years, he played football, softball, and track; today, still holds the Dexter discus throw record. He enjoyed music, dancing, and socializing with his family & friends. He held most dear, Sunday Family dinners. He will be greatly missed by his dear wife, family, and friends. Manuel is survived by his wife, Monica Reveles Duran, of Dexter, New Mexico; his daughters, Veronica Duran (Carlos), Elizabeth Duran (Axel); son, Javier Duran; grandchildren, Adrian Contreras, Aretzii Alvarado, Adamari Jurado, Ezequiel Vela, and Carlitos Alvarado; parents, Manuel & Soledad Duran; brothers Luis Raul Duran (Delores), Arturo Duran (Melissa); his sister Rosario Lomas (Greg) all of Dexter, New Mexico; his sister Lilia Duran of Matamoros, Mexico; and many nieces, nephews, cousin’s, uncles, brother & sister-in-law’s that he loved dearly.
