Manuel Mendoza

January 28, 1936 - March 2, 2022

Manuel Mendoza, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Please take a moment and share a fond memory or kind expression of sympathy for Manuel’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. SERVICES: There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (Ave Maria Center Bldg.) on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On January 28, 1936, Manuel was born to Jorge and Luz Mendoza in Presidio, Texas. He was the beloved husband of Olivia Mendoza whom he married on June 8, 1955, in Artesia, New Mexico. They had a beautiful family. Manuel had several careers throughout his life, he started as a carpenter, then moved on to working for KRDD Radio station for a period of twelve years, later he worked for eighteen years for the City of Roswell. He was also in the Mariachi profession. Manuel was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Roswell, NM, where he loved participating in the Choir and Eucharist Ministry. He loved music and keeping his mind occupied with things that were meaningful to him. Manuel was a spiritual man and was involved in many church activities. Manuel was devoted to the Lord and enjoyed church ministries and Bible study. Manuel’s family will carry fond memories of him, and he will be greatly missed by all. SURVIVORS: Manuel is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Olivia Mendoza; sons: Lionel Mendoza, Dago Mendoza, and Aldo Aguirre; daughters: Wilma Mendoza, Yvonne Marquez, and Sonya Caballero; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly; as well as his sister, Magdalen Calderon of Carlsbad, NM. PRECEDED: Preceding Manuel in death are his son Wilfred Mendoza; parents: Jorge and Luz Mendoza; and brother, Simon Mendoza.
