A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 9:30 AM, with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On February 07, 1943, Maria was born in San Francisco Del Oro, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Maria Cleofas Salayandia and Pedro Rascon Solis. She married Andres Garcia on June 17, 1961, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. Maria lived in Roswell, NM, and became a U.S. Citizen. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Prior to her retirement, Maria was self-employed as a field contractor, working for various farms throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Kansas for ten years. Those left to cherish memories of Maria are her children: Rosario Jimenez and spouse Arthur Jimenez, Javier Garcia, Miguel Garcia, Gabriela Wilson, Susana Guzman and spouse Juan Guzman, Andres Garcia II and spouse O'Shawna Garcia, Inez Sanchez and spouse Lonnie Sanchez; grandchildren: Raquel Vandenbout and Jose Villa II, Matthew Garcia, Sandy Acosta-Frosch, Cesar Garcia, Juan De Dios Guzman, Isabel Guzman, Julian Guzman, Andres Garcia III, Jacklynn Garcia, Isabel Flores, Analicia Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Christine Sanchez, Luke, and Aaron Sanchez; twenty great-grandchildren; step-mother, Placida Rascon; siblings: Sara Rascon, Rodolfo Rascon, Joel Rascon, Irmalicia Rascon, and Ada Teresa Rascon. Maria is preceded in death by her mother, Cleofas Rascon Salayandia; father, Pedro Rascon Solis; sister, Monserrat Rascon and her brothers: Juan Manuel and Juan de Dios Rascon. The family of Maria wishes to extend a special thanks to the Garcia Family: Cruz, Gerardo, Rosalio, Manuel, Alberto, Alicia Sanchez for monetary support, and Rascon and Castillo Family and for their hospitality. Maria's tribute was written in her honor by her daughters.
