Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Mary Ruth Hare’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. On July 4, 1939, Mary Turnbow was born to Mary Ellen Turnbow (Deason) and Harvey Turnbow in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. She married Robert C. Lewis in 1955 and had one child, Robin Casady (Lewis). They divorced in 1968 and Mary married Charles (Dogie) Hare. They were married for almost forty years until Dogie unexpectedly passed away in 2012. Mary was a Christian and is in heaven with God and her beloved Dogie. Mary had a bookkeeping business for nearly forty years, and kept books and prepared income taxes for many people and businesses throughout Roswell and New Mexico. Mary and Dogie were lifetime members of the Chaves County Sheriff’s Posse. She kept their books for many years, ran playdays for the young riders, and slung hamburgers at the food building at the rodeo arena. Mary was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She loved “going up the hill” to the casinos in Ruidoso. Mary was a feisty one. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Those left to treasure and cherish memories of Mary include her daughter, Robin Casady (Keith Berry), of Roswell; granddaughter, Tamara Davis of Clovis; grandson, Bryan Massey of Las Cruces; great granddaughter, Julia Davis of Tucson, Arizona; niece, Shelby Griffin (and husband Larry) of Roswell; special family friend, Bobby Irvin; and numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dogie; and her brothers, Donnie Law and Billy Law. The family of Mary Hare wishes to extend sincere thanks to Encompass Hospice for their care and attention over the past several weeks.
