October 2, 1953 - March 12, 2021
Always a leading lady, Pamela Jane Wilson-Ranson was the first of her four siblings to depart this life on Friday, March 12, 2021. Services for Pam will be held at the Roswell Elk’s Lodge on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow. Pam was born in Roswell on October 2, 1953, to John Wilson, Sr. and Drucella Savage, owners, and proprietors of A1 Reliable Radiator Service and The Nuthouse, still in operation in Roswell. She graduated from Goddard High School. Pam resided in Capitan, NM, for the past twenty-one years. She has always been surrounded by light, whether garnering praise for her musicals roles or being president of her Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity at Eastern New Mexico University. Yes, it is a fraternity, make no mistake (she would happily correct you). Pam had many roles throughout her vaunted life. In Albuquerque, she owned Secretarial Express, a business where she proofread formatted screenplays for myriad clients, including Hollywood screenwriters. She worked at Ruidoso Downs and Lincoln County Medical Center, and Ruidoso Ready Labor. Pam was a phenomenal singer with a rich contralto voice. Throughout her life, she participated in high school, college, church, and community choirs. Being a member of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra choir was a particular highlight for her. Pam was a gregarious person with an outgoing personality that served her well wherever she went. With her contagious laugh and inviting nature, she made friends easily. As a member of the Roswell Elks Club, Pam enjoyed spending time there, where she met a pilot who dazzled her on their first date by flying her off to dinner in his plane. Pam is survived by her husband John Ranson (the pilot, of course), her son Matthew Finnell, her daughter Meagan Finnell and grandson Soren Johnson, and her siblings Shawn Fronterhouse, John Wilson, and Amy Heumann; son John (Rance) Ranson and grandchildren: Jonathan and Breanna Ranson; and daughter, Charlee Merchant and grandchildren: Dalton and Paige Merchant all of Roswell. She left too soon and will be very sadly missed. Please take a moment to share a kind thought or memory with Pam’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. Pam’s tribute was written in his honor by her family.
