Rita Nan Pendergraft

August 6, 1954 - April 4, 2022

Rita Pendergraft went to be with her Lord Jesus Monday, April 4, 2022. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Rita’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. A Memorial Service will be held at Church On The Move on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM. On August 6, 1954, Rita was born to Willie and George Lasiter. She was one of 12 siblings. She was married to Sammie Pendergraft, who preceded her in death, a daughter Michelle living in Roswell, and son Jeffrey, who also preceded her in death. Rita was a warrior for God and dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She sacrificed her own life to take care of her disabled son for 34 yrs until his passing. This last year was a hard one. Rita fought cancer, and during the beginning of the battle, her son unexpectedly died. Even in the sorrow, she kept her faith in God’s plan in all of it, never doubted His Love. Her brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Debbie, open their home up for her to stay and live out the remainder of her life with family. She was grateful to have them in her life and enjoyed her brother cooking her breakfast every morning and her sister in laws spunky humor that kept her laughing. Rita loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all in-laws, brothers, and sisters; she will be greatly missed. Rita loved to write poems, sing, and play guitar, she was a daily prayer warrior, and her faith pulled her through her Dark days as she knew without a doubt that Jesus was there with her all along and carried her with Him in the end. She loved having her daughter, the granddaughters, and great-grandchildren over and enjoyed conversations sipping coffee. Rita leaves behind her daughter Michelle and son-in-law Jimmy; granddaughter, Jamie and son-in-law Chris and their (three boys) great-grandchildren: Joel, Joshua, and Jaythan; Kelley and Rico and the great-grandchildren: Rose, Jack, and Emily; two great-grandchildren: Jericho and Violet of Albuquerque; and Larry, whom she considered family and took her to every chemo appointment and was with her and family to the end. Until we meet again. When I leave in the arms of my savior Be happy He carried me home Don’t mourn for me For I am not gone I am in the presence of greatness I want you to rejoice Knowing one day We shall meet again Live, love and laugh until then!, Michelle22 Rita’s tribute was written in her honor by her family.
