January 22, 1929 - October 31, 2021
Silviano “Sylver” Nolan Garcia It is with deepest sadness that we say goodbye to our loving father, who went to be with our Lord October 31, 2021, at the age of 92. He will be dearly missed by all of his family. On January 22, 1929, Sylver was born to Juan B. Garcia and Fedencia Sanchez in Ledoux, New Mexico. Sylver married the love of his life, Cecilia Gonzales on October 1, 1949, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. They lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming for several years, where Sylver worked for the road department. Sylver moved his wife and three children to Roswell, New Mexico, in October of 1959. He worked several years for the Coors company under the Maloofs. He managed and worked in sales for Quality Liquors, Inc. before retiring. Our father was a great man. He worked hard to take care of his family. He was an example and an inspiration to all of us. Dad was always there for us and would give us advice when asked of him. Dad was loving, caring, compassionate, wise, great sense of humor and witty. Sylver never knew a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching old western movies and solving word puzzles. Dad enjoyed playing his harmonica and working on projects around the house. He could fix anything. Sylver is survived by his wife of 72 years of marriage, Cecilia Garcia; son, James Eugene Garcia (Dedra); daughters: Gloria Jeanette Fry (Phillip), Sylvia Fresquez (Joe Rowland); five grandchildren: Cortney Garcia, Shelby Luck (Brian), Neal Hernes (Dina), Robert Fresquez (Vanessa), and Rachel Fresquez; ten great-grandkids: Caelyn Garcia, Addycen and Ayden Luck, Ashley and Alyssa Hernes, Matthew, Majenta and Victoria Fresquez, Jacob Garcia and Siana Gonzalez (Marlon); as well as two great-great-grandkids: Dimitri and Victor. Sylver is preceded in death by his parents: Juan B. and Fedencia Garcia; siblings: Frank, Phil, Tony, Lilly, Orlando, Mary, Gilbert, Ben; and many nieces and nephews. Sylver will be cremated and will be at rest at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Per his request, the family will be having a private service.
