Beatrice Miranda

My mom, Beatrice Miranda, 94, grew her wings on Monday, December 18, 2017, and went to join her two sons whom she loved dearly. In honor of mom’s request, there will be no services held at this time. On June 19, 1923, Bea was born to Pedro and Louisa Aragon in Santa Rita, New Mexico. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a surgical tech for many years. Bea was also a housekeeper and nanny to the families of Jeff and Cathy Sapp, Robert and Vida Mitchell, Dr. Howard Smith and Joseph and Barbara Kelley. The Sapp girls would come to mom so that she could French braid their hair for the Cinderella pageants. Mom was always there when we needed a sitter. Michael, Sammy and Jo Jo have many fond memories of her as they were growing up. Those left to cherish her memories are daughters: Bernice and husband, Sam Martinez, their boys: Michael, Sammy and Jo Jo and extended family; Agnes and husband, Albert Torrez and extended family; Lorraine and Fred Roybal and extended family; daughter-in-law, Deanna Miranda and extended family; Virginia Miranda and extended family; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Stella Gonzales and family. Preceding Bea in death were her parents: Pedro Aragon and Louisa Aragon; sons: Candidito and Richard Miranda; great-grandsons: Freddy Roybal and Mikey Torrez; sisters: Mickey Montoya and Trini Gallegos; father of her children, Candido Miranda; and life partner, Jose Razo who raised her children and grandchildren as his own. Thank You to all the staff from Casa Maria for taking special time with mom, I will forever be thankful. Thanks to her neighbors: Mr. and Mrs. Darrough, David Fugate, John and Sarah who always watched out for her and called all the time to see how mom was. To Ervin and Nancy who always kept her yard looking nice and for always keeping her supplied with cheese balls, juice and all the stuffed animals you would take her. To my cousins: Dorothy Gomez, Paul, Robert and Joe Herrera who always asked how “Tia” was. Thank you, Michael, Jenny and Marie, for bringing my Aunt Trini to see her in September, they had a great time seeing each other. She will be missed, but she will now join her precious sons in Heaven, where they will take care of her, and I won’t have to worry anymore; “I Love you mom and will miss your beautiful blue eyes and smiling face.” Bea’s daughter lovingly wrote this tribute in her honor.
