CONNIE “WELA” LUCERO -- Connie “Wela" Lucero passed away at her home on Thursday, November 22, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones. Connie was born October 14, 1939, in Roswell, NM, to Leticia and Joe Lujan. Connie who was known to everyone as, “Wela” was the most amazing wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, and friend that you could ask for. She had the biggest heart and loved to show it. Connie enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to Spanish music, watching her TV shows, getting her nails and toes painted, and most of all cruises with her Negro, the love of her life. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors: Those left to cherish our Wela's memory are her children: Bonnie Miranda and husband Richard of Texas, Salli Sosa and husband Raymon of Colorado, Dora Aragon, Ramona Lucero, Marina Casarez and husband Lee, Irene Martinez and husband Ernesto; stepchildren: Cindy Salas and husband Ralph, Raymond Lucero Jr and wife Rita, Jerry Lucero; sisters: Sally Cortez and Jane Lucero; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and special cousin, Priscilla Olivas. Preceded: Wela is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years and the love of her life, Raymond "Momis" Lucero; parents: Leticia and Joe Lujan; grandparents: Felicita Ramirez and Juan Regalado; aunt, Ernestine Torres; stepson, Raymond "Boom Boom" Martinez; grandchildren: MaiRai Lucero, A-va Marie Lucero; and great-grandson, David Allen III. Service: A Memorial Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 10:00 AM. Deacon Ernesto Martinez will be officiating. Burial services for Connie "Wela" Lucero and Raymond "Momis" Lucero will follow at South Park Cemetery. The Lucero family gives a special thanks to Kindred Hospice.
