Edward Villarreal

Edward Villarreal (61) September 22, 1962 – October 17, 2023 Edward was born in Sinton, TX to Manuel Ortiz Villarreal and Susan Martinez Villarreal on September 22, 1961. He was the third born of their family of seven children. Edward was a hard worker and loved working with the family growing up and was always there whenever anyone needed a helping hand. Edward was a graduate from Roswell High School. Edward enjoyed spending time with the family and close friends and having a few cold beers and his cigarettes, while listening to Spanish music and enjoying some good BBQ. Edward was a jokester, always had the family laughing. Edward had a few nick names that stuck with him like (Eddie Bird) and his favorite (The OG Papi Chulo), which was an inside joke between him and his nephew Frankie. Edward loved watching the Dallas Cowboys especially with his older brother Manuel and loved watching western movies. Edward loved spending time outside working on the ranch, keeping the yards cut and going to flea markets. Edward had moved from Roswell, NM to George West TX, then to Three Rivers TX where he lived for 17 years until returning home to Roswell in August of this year. Edward is preceded in death by his parents Manuel O. Villarreal Jr and Susan M. Villarreal, his brother Manuel Villarreal III, Brother in Law Doyle Hobbs, sister Susan Villarreal Hobbs, Nephew David Noel Hobbs and great niece Annaleya Grace Sosa. Those left to cherish Edward’s memory are his sisters Sandra Sanchez and her husband Rodney of Placitas NM, Sally Sosa and her husband Frankie of Saratoga Springs Utah, Sharon Lara and her husband Ramon of Roswell, NM and Christopher Villarreal and his wife Tiffany of Rio Rancho NM and sister-in-law Teresa Villarreal (wife of Manuel Villarreal) of Roswell, NM. Nephews and Nieces Manuel Villarreal IV, Godson Matthew Villarreal, of Roswell NM, Ashley & Ray Madrid of Roswell NM, Syrea Sosa of Albuquerque NM. John Hobbs of Clovis NM, Adam Barrera of Roswell, NM, Mason Villarreal of Roswell, NM, Jacob Sanchez of Albuquerque NM, Frankie Anthony Sosa of Saratoga Springs Utah, Luke Lara of Roswell, NM and Hailey Villarreal of Rio Rancho NM. Great nieces and nephews Brandon Barela and Isabella Gonzales of Roswell, NM, David and Dalilah Hobbs of Clovis NM, Alianna and Angelika Padilla of Albuquerque NM, John Hobbs Jr. of South Dakota, Raella and Aviella Madrid of Roswell, NM, and Luke Jeremiah Lara of Roswell, NM. Edward also had some special friends that he considered family, Willie and Kathy Vegara, Tommy Marrufo and Edward Herrera. The family would like to give special thanks to our Tia Elia Garza and our cousin Liza Trujillo and her children and grandchildren and Guadalupe Moreno for all the love and care for our beloved brother. There will be a graveside services at a later date.
