Francisco B. Salas

Francisco (Pancho) Barraza Salas , 81, was surrounded by family on his passing January 31, 2026. A visitation will be held at Anderson & Bethany on February 5 at 9:00a.m., with a rosary at 6:00p.m. A Mass will be held on February 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, with a reception to follow. Born on July 26, 1944 to Juana & Anastasio Salas; Francisco grew up cropping with his dad and family in La Gallego Mexico. He then served in the Mexican military as a soldier before coming to the United States. He was married in Delicia Chihuahua to Cirila Salas, and together they had four children. He was a devoted member of St. John's Catholic Church, where he was actively involved in church activities, including the cursillo retreat, and faithfully served as an usher for many years. In recognition of his dedication, he received an achievement award for being a Charro. He was retired from the sanitation department for Chaves County. He loved spending time with his family, caring for his animals, going camping and hunting, and participating in church activities. He also loved traveling anywhere he was invited to go. He is survived by his children Ana Salas & Jamie Rios, Raquel Aguirre & Juan Aguirre, Luis Salas & Alex Salas, Raul Salas & Kristal Etsitty; his grandchildren Miguel Salas, Elias Salas, Josh Rios, Samantha Salas, Natalia Salas, Ethan Salas, Isaac Salas, Nicolas Salas, Denise Salas, Elieso Aguirre, & Yesenia Aguirre; and his great-grandchildren Matthew & Alejandro Ortiz, Artemis Poe, Ellie Rios, and Kiva Rios. He is also survived by his siblings Pascula Urbina(Chano), Merced Martinez(Lalo), Cristino Salas, Augustine Bentacur(Juanito) He was preceded in death by his parents Juana and Anastasio, his granddaughter Isabel Rios, his nephews Lupe Aldarete & Jose Aldarete, and his brothers Rosario Salas and Jesus Salas. He will be greatly missed by his children and family.
