Grant Mobley George

Grant M. George, age 52, died unexpectedly on February 1, 2021, in Roswell, New Mexico. A Celebration of his Life will be upon further notice. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Grant’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. On August 5, 1968, Grant, son of Ermal and Olive George, was born in Bloomington, Indiana. He joined the Airforce in 1986 and was also in the National Guard for almost 10 years. Grant is preceded in death by his father, Ermal George; mother, Olive George; stepson, Steve Martinez; sister, Georgia Nichols; and brother, Gary George. Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Grant are his loving wife of 25 years, Mary Valdez George; children: Dwayne Martinez and wife Victoria Martinez and Angela Denise Martinez, both of Las Cruces New Mexico, Jennifer Prieto of Arizona, Justin Kyle George, Travis Paul George and Fox Hunter George of Bedford Indiana; siblings: Greg George of Bloomington Indiana and Roswell New Mexico, Gordon George, Anthony Hatfield of Bloomington Indiana, and Karen George of Petoskey Michigan; grandchildren: Alyssa Mai and husband Tarik Nelson of Houston Texas, Jocelyn Savonne and husband Andres Portillo stationed at South Carolina, Brian Lucas Ramirez, Ciara Denise Martinez, A.J. Martinez, Frankie Jayden, Martinez and Alex Luis Martinez all of Las Cruces New Mexico, Violet George of Bedford, Indiana; a great-granddaughter due on March 2021, Naliah Savonne Portillo of South Carolina; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as chosen family too numerous to mention that loved him dearly. Grant met his wife Mary Valdez George in Tucson, Arizona. They came to Roswell to visit on their vacation, and both of them have been here since 1999. Grant was a Jack Of All Trades and a MASTER at EVERYTHING because his wife Mary always told him he could fix and do anything. He loved taking things apart and seeing with his own eyes how it all worked. Grant worked on computers, phones, TVs, vehicles and you name it, Grant would fix it. He had a love for life that he lived to the fullest and never slowed down until God said it was time for him to leave us and “come home” to his eternal HOME. Grant was always ready for his next adventure and loved having his grandchildren over. He would always tackle them and call it “THE CLAW!!”, they would laugh so hard they would cry. Plus, when Grant would say hi to them, he would put his fingers up to his nose and wave his fingers. He loved spending time outdoors with his brother or anyone that would come over, listening to music and drinking his beer. Grant enjoyed talking with his family on the phone. Some of his favorite activities were fishing and planning road trips to go to Hooters. He always had Super Bowl parties. Grant looked forward to that every year to be with family and friends. He was a New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers and sometimes Sea Hawks fan. Family and friends, please try and find comfort with the memories that you made with him. May God Bless you all.
