Jana Helen King Shannon

Jana Helen King Shannon was born on October 18, 1953, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Helen (Rhodes) King and W. J. King. God called her home to Heaven on November 18, 2021, at the family cabin in Mayhill, NM. She and Charles were married in Cordell, OK, on September 7, 1973. After graduating from Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy in 1974, Charles moved with Jana to Lubbock, TX, in a sand and mud ball storm. She was not impressed! For 36 years, she was co-owner with Charles of Primm Drug in Roswell.. Together, Jana and Charles worked almost daily in Lubbock, Clovis, and Roswell. After retiring in 2018, Jana and Charles enjoyed traveling all over the country alone or with traveling buddies - Hal and Mignon, Jery and Darrel, and Colt and Charlotte. Lots of great times with great friends Jana loved the cabin in Mayhill immensely. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, reading, and as of late, freeze-drying everything imaginable. College football and the Dallas Cowboys were always a must-watch. Many good times with friends at lunch and dinner were spent at the Elks Lodge, the Roswell Country Club, or the Mayhill Cafe. From Charles’ arms, Jana went directly into God’s. She will be greatly missed by anyone blessed enough to have known her. Left to cherish memories of Jana are her husband of 48 years, Charles; two daughters: Amy of Oak Ridge, TN, and Bethany of Roswell, NM; brother, Cody King and wife LaDonna of Enid, OK; sister, Kathy Vermillion and husband Rick of Watonga, OK. Jana and Charles have three wonderful grandchildren that were the love of her life: Raina Shannon and partner Colton Borg of Chicago, IL; Adam Shannon of California, MD; and Jacob Shannon of Oak Ridge, TN; two brothers-in-law: Dom Shannon and wife Nancy of Grapevine, TX and David Shannon and wife Karen of Midlothian, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews in New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life honoring Jana will be at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel, 2609 S. Main Street in Roswell on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Casa of Roswell, Assurance Home of Roswell, or to a charity of your choice. A gathering will be held at the Roswell Country Club after the services. Friends and family are welcome to join to share memories of Jana.
