Lauren Marie Sanchez, 36, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Lauren was born on April 23, 1990, in Roswell, New Mexico, where she spent her life raising her family and caring deeply for those around her. She was known for her strength and for always giving her time, energy, and love freely to others. Above all, Lauren was a devoted mother to her three children, April Sanchez, Brandon Merryfield, and Dominic Merryfield. She was always there for her children, proudly supporting their interests, attending their games, and making sure they always knew how deeply they were loved. Her children were the center of her world, and her love for them was constant and unwavering. She also shared a close bond with her parents, siblings, and extended family, and treasured the love and closeness they shared throughout her life. Lauren also had a passion for life’s simple joys. She was a loyal fan of the Las Vegas Raiders and found happiness in cheering on her team. Through her work at Farmers and Walmart, Lauren formed many meaningful friendships with her customers, who knew her for her kindness, warmth, and caring heart. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who loved deeply and made the people around her feel cared for and valued. Lauren was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Eloy M. Sanchez and Josephine Sanchez; her maternal grandmother, Josephine Montoya; and her uncles, Eloy Sanchez Jr. and Julian A. Sanchez, all of whom she loved very much. Lauren is survived by her father, Lawrence Sanchez; her mother, Margaret Sanchez; her siblings, Isaac Montoya (Irma), Larry Sanchez (Sandra), Vanessa Casey (Jonathan), Marissa Sanchez Ramirez (Joel), Michelle Gomez (Fabian), and Elijah Sanchez (Kaylie); her three children, April Sanchez, Brandon Merryfield, and Dominic Merryfield; her 19 nieces and nephews and 7 greatnieces and nephews, all of whom she adored; her grandfather; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins, each of whom she loved very much. A funeral service celebrating Lauren’s life will be held on May 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Christ’s Church, located at 2200 N. Sycamore Ave., Roswell, New Mexico 88201. Burial at South Park Cemetery will follow the service, with a reception afterward at Christ’s Church at 4:00 p.m. for family and friends to gather in remembrance of Lauren and the love she shared with so many. She will be deeply missed, and her love will continue to live on through her children and all who knew her.
