Manuelita Lucero

A rosary will be recited for Manuelita Lucero, 76, of Chowchilla, California at 7 pm Monday, November 6, 2006 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 pm Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Benedict Begin O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Manuelita passed away Monday, October 30, 2006 in Chowchilla, California. Manuelita was born March 17, 1930 to Pedro Gonzales and Antonia Rodriguez Gonzales in Carlsbad, NM. She married Amarante Lucero on November 5, 1945. He precedes her in death. Manuelita is survived by two daughters; Arcenia and her husband, Israel Medrano, of Roswell and Beatrice Montez of Chowchilla, California. Grandchildren; Chris & Rosa Montez, Margarito & Rachel Montez, Norma & Julio Garay, Nora & Joe Trevino, Beatrice and Rebecca Montez, Rick Medrano, Cyndy & Daniel Gonzales, Berlynda & Jaime Fresquez, and Israel Medrano Jr. Great Grandchildren Chris, Francisco, Manuel Montez, Stephon, Gabriel, Marty, Adam, Alexandria & Milliana Montez, Ricky, Julio, Jay & Amanda Garay, Naomi, Norma, Joseph & Antonio Trevino, Lazette Gama, Angelina Montez, Aaron Medrano, Alexis, Gerard, Rael & Ezekiel Gonzales, & Savannah Fresquez and one great-grandchild on the way. One Great-Great-Grandchild; Izaiha; five brothers; Jose Gonzales, Lalo Gonzales, & Fernando Saiz all of Hobbs, NM, Pete Gonzales, of Portland, Oregon, and Ismael Gonzales of California. Four sisters; Virginia Acosta of Lovington, NM, Maria Cano of Hobbs, NM, Cruz Rodriguez of Loving, NM, and Licha Saiz of Oregon. Manuelita was preceded in death by her parents Pedro Gonzales & Antonia Rodriguez Gonzales, two sisters, Esperanza Lucero & Cleofas Gonzales, one brother Armando Saiz, one son-in-law, Israel Montez & one great grandchild Israel Montez. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Chris Montez, Margarito, Montez, Rick Medrano, Israel Medrano Jr., Daniel Gonzales & Joe Trevino. Honorary pallbearers will be her son-in-law, Israel Medrano Sr., her first great grandchild, Stephon Montez, and her granddaughters Cyndy Gonzales, Norma Garay, Nora Trevino, Beatrice Montez, Berlynda Fresquez, & Rebecca Montez.
