Mary Nadeau

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Grace Community Church, for MaryAnn Nadeau, of Roswell, who passed away Jan. 19, 2009, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. The Rev. Rick Hale of Grace Community Church will officiate. Services were preceded by cremation. MaryAnn is survived by her husband, Lionel Nadeau, of Roswell; three children, Mike Nadeau and his wife, Amanda, and their two children, Joshua and Gabriel, of Citronelle, Ala., David Nadeau, of Roswell, and Elizabeth "Nikki" Edwards and her husband, Terry, and their two children, Elijah "Zane," and Carrie, of Roswell. Other surviving relatives are: David and Vickie Weight, of Lansing, Mich.; Dr. Forest and Ginny Weight, of Frederick Md.; Barbara and Richard Green, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Walt and Thelma Diller, of Harrisburg, Pa.; Robert Smith, of Harrisburg; Jack and Olivine Bohner, of Banning, Calif.; John Bohner III and Jennifer of Norco, Calif.; Mark Bohner, of San Francisco; Erin Carey, of Carlsbad, Calif.; June Carey, of Chico, Calif.; Martin and Sharon Carey, of Grand Terrace, Calif.; Osbourne and Pauline Lee of Blind Bay, British Columbia, Canada; Phillip Lee, of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada; and Stephen Lee, of Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada. She is also survived by numerous friends and acquaintances in the United States and abroad. MaryAnn Dargi was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Washington, D.C. She attended school in Washington, and American University in Washington Her singing voice was discovered at an early age. She developed her voice by studying with some of the best teachers in the Washington area. Two of them were Leda Brodanova, formerly of the Royal Chezk Opera of Prague, and Elainea Page, formerly of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. She sang as a soloist and choir member in churches and singing groups in Washington and the surrounding areas. Upon moving with her husband and family to Roswell in 1978, she continued to sing in area churches and choruses until ill health made practicing and singing for any period of time extremely difficult. After 2001, she was unable to sing because of compromised mobility. Her working career included employment at Kitt & Jordan Music, in Washington, the Royal Embassy of Thailand, the Department of Agriculture, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Aviation Administration. She was married to her husband, Lionel, on June 30, 1968. They were together for 40 years. She was a wife, friend, and soulmate to her husband, a devoted and loving mother to her children and a friend to all she met and knew. Before becoming ill, she attended church often. She lover her Lord and Savior. She joyfully took his hand, walking once again, to sing a heavenly chorus with the angels. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, one of several charities and worthy causes she supported for many years Services are under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory.
