Modesta Garcia Hernandez, 91, left us to join our heavenly father on Sunday, June 11th, 2023, in Roswell, NM. The Church is located at 2600 S. Union Ave. Roswell, NM. With Rev. Rolando Mendoza and Rev. Patricio Porras officiating over service. On March 28, 1932, Modesta was born to Pablo Hernandez and Anita Garcia Hernandez in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, where she attended school and was a member of, and baptized at the Iglesia Apostolica en la Fe de Cristo Jesus on March 28th, 1948, by Rev. Manuel Perez Villa. Modesta was never married nor had any children of her own but rather indulged her many nieces and nephews with her tender care and love. She was a member of the Iglesia Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus in Roswell, NM. Some of Modesta’s favorite pastimes involved garage saleing, walking, gardening, and spending special quality time with her great-great niece Alessia Castro and Great nephew Michael Gallegos. Modesta will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Modesta include her brothers: Pedro Hernandez of Dallas TX, Joaquin Hernandez and wife Mercedes Hernandez of Chaparral NM, Salvador Hernandez and wife Carolina Hernandez of Indio CA, Francisco Hernandezand wife Graciela Hernandez of Las Cruces NM, José Luis Hernandez of El Paso TX; sister, Delfina Hernandez Gallegos of Roswell NM; and countless nieces, nephews, great, and great-great nieces, and nephews. Modesta was preceded in death by her parents: Pablo and Anita Hernandez; brothers: Jose Carrasco, and Faustino Hernandez; sisters: Juana Hernandez, Guadalupe Armendarez, and Paula Balderas. Modesta’s Family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Sunset Villa, Gentiva Hospice, and the Ministers from IGAFCJ. Modesta’s Family Suggests that in lieu of cut flowers, that live flowers or plants be sent so that they may be planted in the family garden in her memory.
