Obituary for Robert Reid A memorial service for Robert “Bob” Reid, 70, of Roswell will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, September 4, 2010 at His House Church in Dexter, NM with Pastor Ron Fuller officiating. On Wednesday, August 25, 2010, he passed away from this life to a happy and healthy new beginning with his Lord and Savior. Bob was born to Leo and Frida Reid in St. Louis, Missouri on April 11, 1940. Bob married Rebecca Schobey in Perryville, Missouri on July 20, 1974. Bob retired from General Motors where he was a line worker assisting in the manufacturing of Corvettes. Long after his retirement, automobiles remained one of his passions. Following his retirement, he and his family moved to Roswell, which has remained their home for over the past twenty-five years. Bob was an active member of the Roswell Sertoma Club. Bob was a loving and devoted grandfather. He spent valuable time with his grandchildren caring for them until they were school age. Bob was known by many, and seemed to never meet a stranger. He enjoyed fishing trips with his sons and grandsons, and even fighting over which T.V. program they were going to watch together in the afternoons. Bob’s longtime dream of returning to Missouri to visit and reunite with members of his family and friends was recently fulfilled, when his wife, Becky, and son, Jeremy, traveled with him in July of this year. Bob was a Christian man, who recently accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Having lived a life that touched so many, Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his wife Rebecca Reid; his children: Jeremy Reid, Thomas Reid, Jonathon Reid and his wife Kim, Gina Martin and her husband Dean, Robert Reid, Darin Reid, Tammy’e Green and her husband Michael, and Alicia Griego; grandchildren: Bailey and Mason Reid, Carson Reid and Gabriella Griego, Tara and Jesse Martin, Bobbi Jo and Serenity Brown, Joseph Reid, and Ashley and Julie Reid; and the Fuller family of Roswell and the surrounding areas. He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Frida Reid.
