Obituary for Rose Salazar Horton Viewing for Rose will be from 12 noon to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited for Rose Salazar Horton, 46, of Roswell at 7 pm Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Rose Mary at 10 am Thursday, June 7, 2007, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. officiating. Rose passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Roswell, Rose was born on December 13, 1960 to Salvador and Roberta Chavez Salvador. She loved listening to music, spending time with her family, caring for her grandchildren, and caring for others. Rose is survived by her husband, Adan Horton; six daughters, June, Brandy, Mechila, Nichole, Eva, and Amber Salazar, and Josephine Horton; twelve grandchildren, Christina, Esmerelda, Joseph, Cipriana, Nicholus, Eliana, Angel, Maribel, Noah, Danny Jo, Veronica, and Atalaya; her parents who raised her, Ralph and Eva Cobos;her biological mother Roberta Salazar; brothers, Joseph “Boy” Anthony salazar, Randy Cobos, Rudolph Cobos, David Cobos, Floyd Cobos, Ruben Cobos, and Richard Cobos, Robert, Richard, Jimmy, and Willie Boy Salazar; sisters, Josie Aragon, Roberta Avila, and Bernalina “Gordy” Soto; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her grandparents, Felipe and Annie Apodaca; father, Salvador Salazar; brother, Joseph “Kiki” Salazar and Richard Cobos, Sr.; and numerous other relatives. Pallbearers will be Angel Horton, Gabriel Horton, Johnny Pacheco, Phillip Navarette, Chris Franco, Junior Loya, Angustine Horton, and Clayton R. Means. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
