Sherry James

Heaven received a special angel on May 16, 2012. Sherry was born on January 20, 1945 in Roswell, New Mexico to Mack and Beatrice Sharp. She was the youngest of three children. She attended Dexter Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. She moved away for a while but eventually moved back to the Dexter/Roswell area as this was where her roots were. She worked in the Dexter school system for several years and then eventually got into private home health care which ended up being her true calling. She took care of some very special people during her caregiving days and her legacy will live on in all the lives she touched. She was so proud of her family and the values her mom and dad instilled in her. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for family, friends or even strangers. If someone needed help, she was there to do whatever she could. She had the gentlest soul and the most loving heart a person could have and I am honored to have had her as my Mother. She will be missed by so many but I know now she is in God’s precious hands and taking care of whoever needs her in Heaven. Not only is she my mom, she is now my guardian angel. Remember Mom….it’s not good-bye, it’s see you soon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles James; her parents Mack and Beatrice Sharp; and sister, Carolyn Moore. She is survived by her daughter Dawna Rochelle and fiancé, Dale Stewart of Roswell, NM; grandson Joseph Blayne Rochelle of Roswell, NM; brother Dwight Sharp and wife, Mary Jane of Dexter, NM and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended grandchildren, several dear friends and of course her loyal canine companion, Soupy. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Monday, May 21, 2012 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home with Cecil Kimberlin officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Her Journey's Just Begun Don't think of her as gone away – her journey's just begun, life holds so many facets - this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched... for nothing loved is ever lost - and she was loved so much. - Ellen Brenneman
